East Providence Opens Cooling Centers In Response To Heat Wave

The cooling centers will be open from Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 2.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The East Providence Emergency Management Agency has opened three cooling centers throughout the city in response to this week's heat wave.

The cooling centers will be open from Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 2. Visitors must wear face masks and should bring a book, game, or other entertainment. Food is not provided.

The three cooling centers are located inside the following buildings:

  • East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Avenue, Monday – Friday, 8am-6pm.
  • Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue, Monday-Thursday 9am - 8pm and Friday/Saturday, 9am -5pm.
  • Riverside Library, 475 Bullocks Point Avenue, Monday - Thursday, 10am -6pm and Saturday, 9am -1pm.
