East Providence Police Arrest Two In Connection With Shooting

But police have held off identifying the accused because the investigation is continuing, Det. Raymond Blinn said.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—Two men have been arrested in connection with the Friday afternoon shooting near Green Street and Waterman Avenue, police said. The two, 20 and 21, are not East Providence residents. Officers found them in an apartment near the scene, police said. They face these charges: Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Discharging a Firearm in a Compact Area, and Conspiracy. Police are not releasing their names yet.

"No further details are being released because this is a very active investigation with the possibility of additional arrests being made," police said in press release .

The victim, a 28-year old man, went to the hospital in a car. Police found him at Rhode Island
Hospital with a "non-life threatening gunshot wound."
