East Providence Police Charge Verizon Installer As Video Voyeur
Police said a woman handed over her i-Pad to be connected to her Verizon service, and the installer sent out one of her personal videos.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—East Providence police have arrested a Verizon technician who accessed a video on a customer's iPad and sent it out without her permission. Derrick Calvano, 47, of Dighton, Mass., was installing Verizon service in a woman's home on July 11. He asked if she had any other electronics she wanted him to connect. She handed over her iPad.
Afterwards, she received a text message saying one of her videos had been sent to an unknown number in the 508 area code.
"The message, which was of a very sensitive and personal nature, had been sent during the time that Calvano had her i-Pad," police said. The woman contacted police. Det. Jeffrey Mace investigated the case. On July 13, Calvano was charged with Intentional Computer Access and Video Voyeurism.
