East Providence Police Confirm Shooting Friday Afternoon
Det. Raymond Blinn said the victim was located at Rhode Island Hospital. He suffered injuries described as not life-threatening.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI--Police have confirmed one man was shot around 3:30 p.m. near Waterman Avenue and Greene street. Details are sketchy, but police said more information will be released later tonight. According to Det. Raymond Blinn, the call about a shooting came Friday afternoon. But when police arrived, no victims or suspects were in the area.
"Witness information revealed that prior to police arrival, a male victim was put into a car and driven from the scene," Blinn said in an e-mail message. "One male victim, with a non-life threatening injury was located at RI Hospital a short time later. Several persons of interest were located at an apartment near the scene and transported to the East Providence Police Department for investigation."
