East Providence Police Investigating Fatal Crash
An East Providence resident was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Pawtucket Avenue.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—East Providence Police Department is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that took place on Pawtucket Avenue, in the vicinity of Silver Spring Avenue, on Tuesday evening.
Officers responded to the scene and found a pedestrian in the roadway suffering from serious injuries, according to a press release from East Providence Police Department. Immediate life-saving procedures were required and continued by the East Providence Fire Department.
Police said the pedestrian was identified as East Providence resident Jose Rodrigues, 71. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with an investigation bay the East Providence Police Traffic Unit, according to police.
