East Providence Public Libraries Extend Closure
All branches of East Providence Public Library will remain closed through Jan. 20.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence Public Libraries will now remain closed through Jan. 20 to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
The city's libraries initially announced their closure for the duration of the statewide pause from Nov. 30 through Dec. 20 and made the decision on Dec. 21 to remain closed until after the holidays. The library system had already experienced a temporary closure on Nov. 9 due to a COVID-19 exposure at its main branch.
The library system announced on Saturday that all locations would be closed for an additional two weeks out of an abundance of caution.
