East Providence Public Libraries To Remain Closed Into February

All branches of East Providence Public Library will remain closed through Feb. 16.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence Public Libraries will now remain closed through Feb. 16 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The library system announced on Sunday that all locations would be closed for an additional three weeks out of an abundance of caution.

The city's libraries have been closed to the public since Nov. 30. and have postponed their scheduled reopening three times in the last two months.

The current closure includes Weaver Library, Riverside Branch, and Fuller Creative Learning Center. Although these locations will not be available for in-person browsing and activities, online services, virtual programs, and a contact free "library takeout" for holds, print jobs, and craft kits will be provided.

East Providence libraries also started scheduling 30-minute computer sessions by appointment on Monday. Sessions begin on Wednesday at both Weaver and Riverside.
