EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — An East Providence teen was nearly hit by a stray bullet that shot through his bedroom window Monday night, reported WPRI.

Shawn Magnum, 17, was playing video games when the bullet shattered the window, said his mother, Cara Gregory. Police later found the bullet lodged in the headrest of the chair Magnum was sitting in.

Investigators say they questioned the family's next door neighbor, 35-year-old Cooper Gillis, who said he had mistakenly shot through the window with an airsoft gun. Yet according to a police report, the bullet found was from a 9 mm handgun.
