EPFD Puts Out Two-Alarm Fire on Whelden Avenue
Fire in apartment building was quickly extinguished.
East Providence firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon at 20 Whelden Ave.
East Providence Fire Chief Oscar Elmasian said the fire was contained to a bathroom in the Taunton Plaza Complex building. The Providence Journal reports the fire was started by a fan falling onto a rug.Â
According to reports, the call came in at 3:52 p.m. and was quickly brought under control. Â
