Here are some of the events happening around East Providence for Monday, October 15th, 2012.

East Providence Weather: 

  • Monday: A chance of showers, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 10 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Monday Night: Showers likely, mainly before 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind 6 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

The League of Women Voters RI hosts two candidates’ debates in East Providence this week: Monday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 pm at the Cape Verdean Progressive Center, 329 Grosvenor Ave., for Wards 1 & 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 6 pm at the Riverside Congregational Church, 15 Oak Ave., for Wards 3 & 4.

The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club No. 6691 meets every Monday at 12:15 pm at Eleven Forty Nine East Restaurant, 965 Fall River Ave., Seekonk.

Free Concert: Weaver Library is thrilled to host a free concert with the highly-praised husband-wife duo who blend gorgeous vocals with an astounding array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old-time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, limberjacks, feet and more. Based in Rhode Island, and now calling the East Bay home, Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly have traveled extensively for twenty-five years in the United States, with occasional trips to Ireland, England, and Canada to perform their unique blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original songs and poetry. The concert goes from 7pm to 8pm at the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Street, East Providence.
