East Providence Compost Center Opens Saturday

The Forbes Street Compost Center will be open on Saturdays for city residents to drop of leaves, shrubs and yard waste.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The Forbes Street Compost Site will be open to residents from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays beginning March 7. Saturday openings will continue for the following three Saturdays.

Residents may drop off leaves, grass, shrubs and branches less than three inches in diameter, or other material suitable for composting, at the site. Residents must show a valid driver's license as proof of residency.

No commercial vehicles are permitted. Incoming material must be loose with no plastic bags and no contaminates. Weekly curbside yard waste collection will begin on March 30.
