Free Violin Lessons In East Providence
The Haven United Methodist Church will offer socially distanced beginning and intermediate violin classes this fall.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI —East Providence youth will have access to a free violin school this fall courtesy of the Haven United Methodist Church.
The church on Taunton Avenue will be offering both beginner and intermediate classes starting in September. The classes will begin on Sept. 12 and taught on Saturdays.
The beginner class will run from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with the intermediate class running from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Those looking to apply are asked to write a short essay: "Why I want to learn to play the violin."
The hope is to have in-person classes in the Haven Church Youth Room following state and CDC guidelines with masks and social distancing for a maximum of six students per class. A limited amount of violins are available by rent for a refundable $20 deposit.
