How To Dispose Of Your Christmas Tree In East Providence

East Providence offers chances to drop off your Christmas tree for chipping, or leave it for curbside pickup, after the holiday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – Once the presents are unwrapped, and the ornaments and tinsel come down, East Providence will provide several opportunities to get rid of your worn-out Christmas tree starting next week. Residents can either drop off a tree to be chipped at various locations in the city, or put out for curbside collection in January.

East Providence chip-a-tree will take place Dec. 26 through Jan. 17 at Agawam Field, Hull Street Playground, Pierce Field, Central Avenue Playground, Silver Spring Playground, Kent Field, Riverside Recreation Field, Grassy Plain Park, Sabin Point Park and Carousel Parking Lot.

Curbside collection will take place Jan. 6 through Jan. 24. Resident are asked to remove all ornaments, lights and stands. Evergreen trees only will be collected — no wreaths, garland, roping or artificial trees. Trees will be collected separately from weekly trash pickup.
