Obituary: Gloria (Rodrigues) Correia, 92

Gloria (Rodrigues) Correia, 93, of North Prospect St., East Providence, passed away peacefully at home with her son by her side Wednesday evening, May 18, 2016. She was the wife of the late Manuel Moniz Correia.

Born Jan. 26, 1923, in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Cabral Rodrigues and Maria Da Transfiguracao Cabral. She was a faithful communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church where she was a Lector.

She leaves her 5 sons, Viriato Correia of East Providence, Eduardo Correia of Virginia Beach, VA, Mario Jorge Correia of East Providence, Lino Correia of East Providence and Osvaldo Correia of Virginia Beach, VA; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was also the sister of the late Joaquim Cabral Rodrigues, Maria Jose Barbosa and Eduarda Medeiros.

Her funeral will begin Monday at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4pm until 7pm.
