Obituary: Olympia Mottas, 88

Olympia (Cabral) Mottas, age 88, of St. Cloud, Florida and formerly of East Providence, died June 28, 2016.

Olympia (Cabral) Mottas, age 88, of St. Cloud, Florida and formerly of East Providence, died June 28, 2016 at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center.

She was the wife of Arthur S. Mottas for 69 years.

Born in Bristol, RI, she was a daughter of the late Leonidio and Firmina (Medeiros) Cabral.She worked as a stitcher for the former, Well Made Dress Co., in Warren, previously working at various dress and garment shops. She served as a past president for the Trinity Women's Auxiliary, East Providence.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Irene Cooley of Riverside, Carol Cipolla-Rupert of Coventry, Antone Mottas of FL, 3 grandchildren, Manuel Arruda, Christine Cipolla-Scholtz, Gary Cipolla, 2 great grandchildren Skylar Jimenez, Avery Scholtz. She leaves her sister Mary Cabral of Bristol and grand pups, Rupert and Moe. She was the mother of the late Arthur "Mousie" Mottas and sister of the late Laura Dansereau.

Her funeral will begin Wednesday July 6 at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St Martha's Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday evening, 5pm until 8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 20 Hemingway Drive, Riverside, RI 02915.
