Obituary: Teresa Eustela Moniz, 89

Moniz, Teresa Eustela, age 89, of Vineyard Ave., died December 29, 2015 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Moises de Medeiros Moniz. Born August 26, 1926 in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Tavares Silva and Maria Nascimento Goncalves (Senra) Silva.

She worked as a Machine Operator for Leviton Manufacturing.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Maria Fernanda Moniz-Gassiat and Attorney Christophe Gassiat of France, her son and daughter-in-law Sergeant Major Moises A. Moniz and Patti A. Moniz of Seekonk, her son John A. Moniz of East Providence and her grandchildren; Gabriel, Jayde, Dakota and Sophia. She was the sister of Eugenia Vieira, Angelina Pacheco and Jose A. Silva all of Canada, Maria Sampaio and Manuel Silva both of East Providence and the late Maria Taveira and Maria Sousa.

Her funeral will begin on Monday at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St.Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be in Sao Miguel, Azores. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to the charity of your choice.
