Power Outages Reported As Thunder Storms Roll In
Almost 10,000 National Grid customers have lost power Wednesday afternoon. The biggest impact is in Pawtucket.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Power outages have been reported across the state, according to National Grid. As of 6 p.m., the utility company said, 9,667 customers had lost power. Most of them are in the Greater Providence area. In Pawtucket, 8,594 households were out. Service is expected to be returned by 8 p.m. But there are also outages in Warwick and in Coventry, where fewer than 10 customers were impacted, and in North Kingstown, where National Grid said fewer than five households had lost power.
About 1,000 people lost electricity in Providence.
