RI Department Of Health Closes Mass Vaccination, Test Sites
Two mass vaccination sites and 14 COVID-19 test sites shut down permanently over the weekend.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) closed 14 state-run test sites and two mass vaccination sites over the weekend, a shift in the state's pandemic response that will allow for more testing and vaccination opportunities to be brought to the hardest hit communities.
The mass vaccination sites at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence and former Benny's in Middletown have both shut down as of Saturday, June 26, according to health officials. The vaccination site at Sockanosset Cross Road will remain open until the fall.
The Dunkin' Donuts Center, which was first used as a mass testing site and later transformed into a mass vaccination site, will begin hosting events again this fall, with its first hockey game since the start of the pandemic scheduled for Saturday, October 16.
