Scholarship Foundation thanks EP for 50 years of Volunteer Service

In recognition of National Volunteer Week, April 7 to 13, Scholarship Foundation of East Providence takes this opportunity to thank the countless volunteers who have helped over its past 50 years of service.
The theme of this year’s Volunteer Week is “Celebrate Service.” We honor all who have contributed their time, talent and support to expand educational opportunities for East Providence students. We recognize the teachers and staff who “Dress Down” to raise funds for scholarships, the custodians who donate their services and the cooks who serve up a hearty meal at our Holiday Breakfast. We appreciate the members of local organizations and families who have held benefit golf tournaments, races and numerous fundraisers. We thank the high school students, past scholarship recipients and families who assist at events. And we are grateful to all who have served on our board and committees over the last five decades.
Scholarship Foundation of East Providence was founded by volunteers in 1968 and continues to demonstrate the impact of volunteer service to the community. In the past fifty years, we have awarded more than $4 million to more than 3,000 East Providence students. None of it could have been accomplished without the volunteer service of local residents.
If you want to help make a difference in East Providence, call 401-431-1675 to join Scholarship Foundation of East Providence as we plan the next 50 years of service.
