"According to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank," Tracey said, "12.7 percent of all Rhode Island households are impacted by hunger and food-insecurity. Last year, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank distributed more than 9.7 million pounds of food to more than 60,000 different people. In Rhode Island, there is a high demand for donations and Stop & Shop is committed to making sure no family goes hungry this Thanksgiving."
So, the Turkey Express trucks and Lewis will bear down on Niantic Avenue with the special delivery.
"Over the course of this holiday season, Stop & Shop is donating more than 300,000 holiday meals to help support families in need," he said. For the record, "Stop & Shop has been a long time partner of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and has donated more than $13 million dollars in food and product to food banks and hunger relief organizations throughout New England."
