Temporary Closure For I-95 South Exit 30 Begins October 11

The closure is the first step in a $19.1 million project replacing four bridges that hold both directions of I-95.

PAWTUCKET, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) Wednesday announced it will begin a two-month closure of Exit 30 on I-95 South on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The off-ramp is close to the Massachusetts border in Pawtucket. It provides access to Roosevelt Avenue, East Street and parts of Central Falls.

According to RIDOT, the closure is the first step in a $19.1 million project replacing four bridges that hold both directions of I-95. The existing Exit 30 off-ramp is interconnected with one of the bridge structures. It will be relocated and slightly modified to separate it from the bridge so construction can continue.

During the closure period, please use a detour at Exit 29. For those trying to get to East Street, turn left at the end of the off-ramp and follow Fountain Street northbound. RIDOT said it expects to reopen Exit 30 by mid-December.
