Toy maker Hasbro, based in Pawtucket, said it lost more than $133 million in revenue in the first quarter of 2018.

PAWTUCKET, RI — The collapse of Toys R Us has been anything but fun and games for Rhode Island-based toy manufacturer Hasbro. Hasbro, based in Pawtucket, said Monday it lost about $133 million in revenue in the first quarter of 2018. Toys R Us recently filed for bankruptcy has shuttered more than 100 stores nationwide, including one in Warwick.
"Our first quarter was expected to be difficult," Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said in a statement. "We are working to put the near-term disruption from Toys“R”Us behind us."
Hasbro makes popular games and toys including Monopoly and Transformers. The company's shares dropped about 4 percent earlier Monday on the heels of the revenue announcement.
