Tsunami Warning For RI Issued In Error, NWS Says
Some across Rhode Island reportedly got a Tsunami Warning this morning.

NEWPORT, RI —Some across New England received a Tsunami Warning Tuesday morning, but the National Weather Service is confirming the alert was "erroneous." People in several states, including reportedly in Rhode Island, received a Tsunami Warning around 8:30 a.m., courtesy of the NWS. The NWS Boston branch tweeted out before 9 a.m. that the message came in error, and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency later confirmed it.
MEMA said the NWS intended for the warning to go only to state warning points and other government agencies.
The mishap brings an immediate reminder of the Hawaii missile alert sent by mistake.
