Two Finalists for Superintentent Post To Be At School Committee Meeting

Celeste Bowler and Kathryn Crowley are two finalists for soon-to-be vacant superintendent position.

Celeste Bowler and Kathryn Crowley are the last two candidates for the superintendent of East Providence schools. Both candidates will be at the school committee meeting on Tuesday, November 10th for public interviews.

Celeste Bowler is a resident of West Warwick and is the current assistant superintendent of the Hamilton-Wenham district in Massachusetts. Bowler is in her fifth year in the position having been hired in 2011 in the district of 1,800 students and five school.

Crowley is the current part-time superintendent of Little Compton Schools and has been there since the 2010-2011 school year. The Cranston resident was previously the assistant superintendent for Johnston Public Schools for eight years starting in 2002 and was principal of Mt. Hope High School in Bristol for three years before that.

The school committee would like to have someone in place of its November 24th meeting to allow for transition time before current superintendent Kim Mercer, retires on December 30th.
