Walter E. Tivnan Jr., Veteran, Dies at 84
Walter E. Tivnan Jr., formerly of East Providence and southern Massachusetts, died on Friday, Aug. 9. He was 84.

Walter E. Tivnan Jr., 84, formerly of Waterfront Drive died on Friday afternoon, Aug. 9, 2013. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Riley) Tivnan.
Born July 4, 1929, in Boston, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Cregg) Tivnan. Walter worked for 30 years at the Boston Herald before retiring.
Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves his three children and his five grandchildren.
He was also the brother of the late Alice Pulera.
His funeral is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 16 at 8:45 a.m. from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 92 Hope St., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5 - 8 p.m.
