Lincoln Town Administrator Almond To Join McKee Administration
Republican T. Joseph Almond will become deputy chief of staff in the new administration of Democratic Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee.

LINCOLN, RI — Lincoln town administrator T. Joseph Almond has accepted a job with the new administration of Gov. Dan McKee and will be leaving the elected local post he has held for 15 years.

Almond, a Republican, will work as McKee's deputy chief of staff at a $154,198 annual salary, the Democratic governor's office announced. In Lincoln, Almond's base salary stands at $94,003 after the Town Council this week approved a 2.5% cost of living increase for the position retroactive to July 1, 2020. Almond is expected to step down by the end of the month.

Almond is slated to appear at a special Town Council meeting Friday evening at 5 p.m. The council will likely will consider the appointment of an acting administrator until a special election can be held. The meeting will also feature the appointment of a municipal court judge and an associcate municipal court judge.
