RI State Police: NH Man With Gun Busted On Rt. 295 In Lincoln

Police say Brian Chamberland of Nashua was intoxicated, had a pistol, and was driving recklessly when he was stopped late Tuesday night.

LINCOLN, RI — Rhode Island state troopers say they arrested an armed and intoxicated man from New Hampshire who was driving recklessly and with a suspended license on Interstate 295.

Troopers at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday arrested Brian Chamberland, age 27, of 18 Hilton Street in Nashua. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a license or permit, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs (first offense), reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license, police said in a media release.

The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop in the town of Lincoln. Chamberland was transported to State Police headquarters, processed, and held overnight pending a Third District Court arraignment Wednesday morning.
