200 People, Multiple Calls Lead To Party Break-Up

Narragansett Man Charged With Drunken Driving

Ryan F. Bresnahan, 24, of 39 Conch Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 1:48 a.m. on March 8 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

According to police, an officer saw a car driven by Bresnahan accelerate quickly from a stop sign at Old Pine Road and Juniper Trail, screeching the tires in the process. Police said the car was traveling in the wrong lane on Old Pine Road until a traffic stop near Sumac Trail.

Police said the car smelled of alcohol, and when asked why he was driving in that manner, Bresnahan told police, “It’s a good car.” Police said that Bresnahan also told them, “I can’t find my license,” to which the officer told him that he had already provided police with his license.

According to police, Bresnahan submitted to field sobriety tests, which he failed, at which point he was arrested. His car was towed from the scene.

At headquarters, police said Bresnahan refused to submit to a chemical test, or to provide any answers about his drinking. He was processed and held for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court at about 9 a.m.

Two Calls Result in Nuisance Sticker for Knowlesway Home

At about 11:59 p.m. on March 7, police received a report of a loud party at 87 Knowlesway. Police said that at the time, the tenants were warned to quiet things down.

However, police said they received a 911 call about a disturbance stemming from the party at about 2:10 a.m. Police said that when they arrived, about 50 people were in the street, but ran into the home when they saw officers.

Police said that at this point, the party was broken up. Police estimated the crowd at about 200 people, with illegal parking throughout the neighborhood and down side streets. Police said many of the partygoers were so intoxicated they had trouble walking.

According to police, it appeared that there had been a fight in the street prior to their arrival. Police noted that many males in the area had their shirts off and were yelling at one another.

Police said there was an orange sticker already on the property, however, it was issued stemming from a party held by the previous, since-evicted tenants in October 2012.

As a result of the party on March 8 though, a new sticker was issued. The tenants were identified as Jordan Jackson Benson, 22, Ayo Isijola, 23, and Tremayne Bryce Williams and Lacosta Ali Muhammad, 21.

Police also noted that a copy of the lease for the home was unavailable. As a result, the building inspector was notified for follow-up.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Benjamin L. Hamill, 21, of 79 Meadow Ave., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 1:06 a.m. on March 8 and charged with disorderly conduct.

According to police, officers monitoring the Bon Vue for bar closing noted bouncers struggling to take Hamill outside. Police said that Hamill was struggled and yelling with the bouncers, and refusing to go outside.

Police said they assisted the bouncers with removing Hamill, and placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct. He was processed and then released at about 4:26 a.m.

According to police, Hamill requested a ride to his car. However, police said a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .116, and as a result, he was not allowed to drive. He was released to the front lobby of headquarters instead.

Narragansett Man Charged With License Violation

Raymond A. Olsen, 24, of 62 Rodman St., Narragansett, was arrested at about 10:40 p.m. on March 8 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer clocked a blue Kia Spectra at 42 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone near Sprague Field. A traffic stop was made on Narragansett Avenue.

Police said a background check of the driver – Olsen – revealed that his license was suspended in October 2012 for failing to pay traffic fees.

He was arrested without incident, processed and then released at about 11:20 p.m. Police also cited Olsen for operating an unregistered vehicle, and gave him a verbal warning for speeding.

Little Compton Teen Cited for Alcohol Violation

Robert M. Wordell, 19, of 274 Long Highway, Little Compton, was cited at about 8:40 p.m. on March 8 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, an officer traveling on Boston Neck Road near Christofaro Park saw a small pickup truck driving without tail lights on. A traffic stop was made near St. Veronica’s Church.

Police said that during the traffic stop, alcohol could be seen by the feet of an 18-year-old passenger in the truck. Police confiscated bottles of Terras D’el Rei Tinto red wine, Captain Morgan’s spiced rum and Parrot Bay Mango rum, and an 18-pack of Miller Lite beer.

According to police, Wordell was cited for the alcohol and allowed to drive from the scene. He was also cited for faulty taillights.
