5 THINGS: Charlie Wilson, An Axis and Little League

Back to Five Things, now that I'm off vacation!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, January 29, 2013:

Hey, I’m no longer on vacation! But I’m still combing through about 500 e-mails I got while I was on vacation, yikes. So, if you contacted me in the past 10 days, it might take me a bit to get back to you, but I am making my way through the backlog.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Constitution Day in Gibraltar. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

The Will Ferrell version was better though. On this day in 2002, George W. Bush gave his famous “Axis of Evil” State of the Union address. (And if you want the Ferrell version, click here. Warning: Website not really safe for work.)

You dropped a bomb on me too, Charlie. Happy 60th birthday to Charlie Wilson, one of the members of The Gap Band. To check out his awesome funkaliciousness, play the attached video.
