Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Sportmen's Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Little known fact – its first governor was an alligator wearing a straw hat. On this day in 1845, Florida became the 27th state.

Funky Cold Medina. While most know Tone Loc for either that song or “Wild Thing,” I mostly remember him from when I was a kid for the classic movie Blank Check, which revealed around a kid getting a blank check, writing it out for $1 million and cashing it at a bank. You know, highbrow stuff. By the way, it is Mr. Tone’s 47th birthday today, so congrats to him!
