5 THINGS: Pong, Beyonce and the Wrong Howard Stern
Plus, the debut of an art reception in Narragansett! Lots of fun stuff!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, November 29, 2012:
Art – fine art. The RE/MAX flagship office on Point Judith Road is hosting an art reception for Libby Gilpatric at 4 p.m. For more info, click here. It’s free, huzzah! Plus, refreshments.
RIDOT: Watch out for altered travel pattern! Route 1 North and South will have some diversions near the Pond Street and Salt Pond Road exits for bridge inspections. They’re taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, so add some extra time to your commute if you’re affected.

“The man with the best job in the country is the vice president. All he has to do is get up every morning and say, ‘How is the president?’” – Will Rogers. Here are today’s government meetings:

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s William Tubman's birthday. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).
Santa AND Cookies!!! The South Kingstown Guild is holding a kids’ cookie creation class on Dec. 1, but they would like people to pre-register, for obvious reasons. For more information, click here. The class is aimed at children ages 5 to 10, and the cost is $12 per child. Also, the Guild is hosting Santa on Dec. 5, 6 and 7, but the program is limited to SK residents. For more info, click here.
Give the gift of food this holiday season. Children’s Dentistry of Wakefield is having a food drive from now until Dec. 19. For more info, click here.

And now the modern cell phone has the power to run about 5 million instances of it at once. On this day in 1972, Atari released Pong.
The other Howard Stern. Not the radio guy, but the sleazy lawyer for dated Anna Nicole Smith? Well, he turns 44 today. Happy birthday, I guess.
