5 THINGS: Smash Isn’t A Smash, and Meetings
Check out some neat events on Tolkien Reading Day.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Monday, March 25, 2013:
“Enthusiasm for a cause sometimes warps judgment.” – William Howard Taft. Here are today’s government meetings:
- The South Kingstown Housing Authority meets at 5 p.m.
- The South Kingstown Town Council has a work session with local legislators at 6 p.m. A regular meeting then starts at 7:30 p.m.
- There are no meetings scheduled today for Narragansett.
Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s the Tolkien Reading Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).
Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know.

Maybe we’ll get water from it someday. On this day in 1655, Jupiter’s moon Titan was discovered by Christiaan Huygens. It’s the only other object in the Solar System with stable surface bodies of liquid.
I have a feeling your schedule might be opening up soon… Happy 29th birthday to Katharine McPhee! Ratings for Smash have dropped below 1.0 an episode, so you might have some more free time soon…
