Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Australia's Harmony Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know.

Spoiler alert: Catchy phrase aside, he was not an especially good dude. On this day in 1871, journalist Henry Morton Stanley began his search for Dr. Livingstone. (The doctor was a fairly decent dude though, as far as the 19th Century went.)

Not to be confused with Michelle Branch OR Vanessa Carlton. Happy 40th birthday to Vanessa Branch! Although she was Miss Vermont in 1994, and she’s appeared in a handful of small TV roles, you probably know her best as the Orbit Gum girl.
