5 THINGS: Winnin’ Titles and Thora Birch

A couple locals won titles yesterday, plus other fun stuff in Five Things.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Monday, March 11, 2013:

So hey, some local kids won titles yesterday… You probably heard about Narragansett winning the Division II girls’ basketball title against Prout, since there was/is an obnoxious orange banner on every article. But in the D-I game, La Salle had two locals on their squad as they beat Barrington. Plus, Prout closed out its hockey series and some Narragansett kids took gold in the academic decathlon – We’ll have more on that later.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s International Women's Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

American Beauty was hella weird, but a good movie. Happy 31st birthday to actress Thora Birch!

On this day in Patch history… Carl Critz did a Patchcast, . I’m envious of it, I truly am.
