After Stop & Shop Strike, Belmont Market Says Thanks With Coupon
As Stop & Shop's union strike came to a close, Belmont Market is saying thank you to new and loyal customers with a $5 off $25 coupon.
WAKEFIELD, RI — Following the 11-day Stop & Shop union worker's strike and an already busy Passover and Easter weekend, a local supermarket is saying thank you to customers for their patience and their support. Belmont Market is offering customers five dollars off of a purchase of $25 or more.
With the worker's strike creating long lines for shoppers and grueling hours for employees, company owners said they are incredibly grateful for everyone's continued patience over the past week-and-a-half.
"We are beyond proud of our employees who gave us 110 percent. Thank you," the Wakefield supermarket wrote on Facebook Monday afternoon. "We are grateful for our customers who were beyond patient. Thank you. We are thrilled at the feedback from new customers who now say that Belmont is a better way to shop."

As a way of expressing their gratitude, the supermarket is offering all customers the five-dollar coupon, valid through the end of the month. To use it, shoppers need only pull up the Facebook post or save the image to their phone and show it to the cashier at checkout.
Belmont said all of their employees worked overtime to meet the increased demand during the strike and holiday weekend.
