Air Quality Alert Issued For Sunday: Rhode Island

The ozone levels will be unhealthy statewide, the health department said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI—The health department is issuing an air quality alert for Sunday for all of Rhode Island. The ozone levels are going to reach unhealthy levels, the state said. The worst impact will be at the coast.

"A stagnant air mass, light winds, and nearly full sunshine will allow ozone to reach UNHEALTHY levels, with highest readings along the southern coastline," the health department said.

The conditions are expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday.
