Baby Dolphin Washes Up In Narragansett On Saturday: DEM
The nor'easter may have been a factor, the state Department of Environmental Management is speculating.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A dead baby dolphin came ashore Saturday in Narragansett, according to the state Department of Environmental Management.
"Our understanding is that Mystic Aquarium sent a team to inspect the animal, which is the established protocol in this situation," Michael Healey, the agency's spokesman said. He did not have the location where the dolphin washed ashore.
"We don’t know if Mystic buried the dolphin or took it back to Connecticut to perform a necropsy (an animal autopsy)," he said. DEM is speculating the storm on Saturday may have been a factor.

"Because of the high onshore winds and surf of the Nor’easter, it’s easy to see how it could be carried from somewhere out in Rhode Island Sound to the shore," he said.
