Benny's Clam Shack Opens New Narragansett Location
The popular Wakefield business cut the ribbon on their second restaurant.
NARRAGANSETT, RI — A popular South County restaurant has cut the ribbon on a new location. The owners of Benny's Clam Shack officially cut the ribbon on the Narragansett restaurant on Thursday morning.
The opening comes after a successful year at their flagship Wakefield location. Owner Dave Thomas told the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce that he was excited to open a restaurant near the water.
"I've always wanted a place down by the water, and this place fit exactly what I was looking for: small and quaint," Thomas said. "My vision is to put a few more of these around the surrounding areas. I know with the great chowder and clam cakes that we serve, plus all of the other great, fresh seafood it’s a win-win for any community. My true love is seafood, and I put together one of the best chowders and stuffies known in this state, but none of this would be possible without my awesome staff."

The menu at the new restaurant, located at the corner of Point Judith Road and Sand Hill Cove Road, will be similar to the first, serving up local seafood, burgers and hot dogs, as well as breakfast items, pizza and calzones. The new location will be open year-round and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As part of the grand opening, the restaurant will have a series of specials such as 99 cent weiners from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout the month of August and a $1.99 breakfast special starting Friday.
