Betty A. Johnson, Avid Volunteer, Dies at 86
Betty A. Johnson, 86, formerly of Peace Dale, died on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Betty A. (Corbett) Johnson, 86, formerly of Saugatucket Road in Peace Dale, died on June 29 at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl C. Johnson.
Born in St. Augustine, FL, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Ralph L. and Grace E. (Lincoln) Corbett. She attended Willamette University in Salem, OR and was a graduate of the Prince School of Retail, Simmons College in Boston, MA. For ten years, Betty worked for the US Navy as a material technician. For many years she was a volunteer with Seniors Helping Others organization. She was also an avid pilot, flying Piper Cubs and Cessnas.
A private funeral service was held at the Peace Dale Congregational Church, Peace Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia Street, Peace Dale, RI 02879 or Seniors Helping Others, 25 St. Dominic Street, South Kingstown, RI 02879.
