Celebrate RI Library Day in Narragansett

The public is invited to a fun-filled event Saturday, April 13, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Narragansett will join in the 5th Annual Rhode Island Library Day with a celebration on Saturday, April 13. The public is invited to join in fun-filled activities for all ages from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 25 Pier Market Place. The theme for Library Day is "Libraries = Strong Communities."

A slate of activities and programs are planned. Children can try their gymnastics skills in the TumbleBus, and get up close and personal with marine life at the Biomes touch tank. There will be face-painting, a balloon artist, music, refreshments and a special guest reader. At the technology station, the public can learn about the latest technology tools available at their local library. There will be information on seed planting, demonstrations, contests and more.

The Library Day celebration is sponsored by the Friends of the Narragansett Library, The Love Your Library Coalition, and the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library. RI Library Day ties into
the American Library Association’s National Library Week celebration, which highlights the valuable role libraries play in their communities.
