Christmas In July, Beach Bingo And More In South Kingstown

South Kingstown Parks and Recreation has a full calendar of family-friendly events this summer.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Looking for fun things to do in South Kingstown this summer? The town's Parks and Recreation department has a full calendar of evening events starting July 11. Beach blanket bingo, Saturday night concerts and even Christmas in July are all open to the public for free or a nominal donation.

Starting July 11, Stories and S'mores will be held on several Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at South Kingstown Town beach. For a small suggested donation of 50 cents per s'more, families can enjoy the summer treat and enjoy beach-themed stories. In case of rain, the events will be held the following day.

Just a few days later, the Sunday night Village Green Concert Series will kick off on July 14. Every Sunday night through August 18, the free concerts will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. On July 21, Swirls and Scoops ice cream shop will sponsor a free ice cream social starting at 5:45.

On July 25, celebrate Christmas in July on South Kingstown Town Beach. Enjoy holiday stories and crafts as well as a visit from Santa Claus himself. The event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., with a rain date of July 26.

Also on Thursday nights, Beach Blanket Bingo will be held at South Kingstown Town Beach from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The event is open to children ages 12 and under as well as their families, for a donation of one dollar per person. Bingo will be held on July 18 and August 8.

On Saturday, August 24, the town will hold a salute to local veterans and active servicemembers from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Veterans, active duty military personnel and their families will all receive free admission to the beach all day and the evening event will feature live music, crafts, games and more.
