Felony Charge Dismissed for $60 Restitution

According to court files, a felony charge is dismissed against Sarah Loranger, 32, after she makes a $60 restitution payment.

A Narragansett police felony charge of obtaining money under false pretenses against Sarah Loranger, 32, of 3 Bill Sweet Way, Narragansett, was dismissed on Feb. 4.

According to court files at Washington County Superior Court, the charge was dismissed in return for Loranger paying $60 back to the victim, a 70-year-old Narragansett woman.

According to Narragansett police reports included in court files, in January 2012 Loranger was accused by the woman of improperly using her debit card at several area banks.

Loranger allegedly told the police that the woman had given her permission to use the card, to buy cigarettes and other small items, for the woman.

According to online records, Loranger has one previous arrest. In January 2004, a South Kingstown police charge of driving with a suspended license was dismissed.
