Gansett Man Charged With Domestic Assault, Trespassing

Narragansett Man Charged With Domestic Assault, Trespassing, Resisting Arrest

Benjamin Lindley, 24, of 29 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:50 p.m. on March 24 and charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest and trespassing.

According to police, on March 17 they received a report of a domestic assault committed by Lindley in their town. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said that on March 24, they received a complaint of an unwanted male at a home on Kingstown Road. Police said that when they responded a woman was yelling at Lindley to get out of the home.

According to police, when they told Lindley he was under arrested and attempted to handcuff him, he yelled at them, “For what?” Police noted that while this was occurring, the woman was screaming, “Get out of my house,” at Lindley.

Police said that after Lindley was subdued and put into a squad car, they were able to interview the woman.

The woman allegedly told police that she knew Lindley, but she was not friends with him, and did not give him permission at any time to enter her home. She told police that she came home from a birthday party to find him in her home, at which point she began screaming and yelling at him to leave.

According to police, based on the various charges against Lindley, he was processed and then transferred to the ACI at about 10:51 p.m.
