Gansett Marathon Done, Boston Today

Wakefield’s Diane Senecal, 40, and 31-year-old Timothy Milenkevich of Ansonia, CT took home the women’s and men’s honors at the 2013 Gansett Marathon on Saturday.

Senecal bested second place finisher Maureen Terwilliger of Guilford, CT by more than a minute.

Claire Gadrow, 43, of Wakefield, was the only other runner from South County in the 21-person women’s field. She finished in third place, about four minutes behind Senecal.

In the men’s division, Narragansett’s Ryan Blazejewski, 36, took home second place, finishing about 10 minutes behind Milenkevich.

Wakefield’s Peter Barbera, 56, took 14^th place. Johnston’s David Principe, 46, finished in third place.

Six South Kingstown, Narragansett Runners in Boston Marathon

Several local runners will be taking place in the 117th annual Boston Marathon at 9:30 a.m. today.

The list is as follows:

• David Tetreault, 50, of Narragansett
• Frank Pazienza, 51, of Saunderstown
• Alfred Garceau, 55, of Wakefield
• Pat A. Ferrigno, 60, of South Kingstown
