General Stanton Inn Flea Market Offers Free Space to Nonprofits
The General Stanton Inn Flea Market in Charlestown is opening its vending booths to nonprofits for fundraising opportunities.
Among the tents selling antiques, jewelry, fishing poles and furniture, patrons at the General Stanton Inn Flea Market will now find nonprofit fundraisers.
Owner of the General Stanton Inn in Charlestown, Janice Falcone, is offering up free space for local nonprofit organizations seeking to raise funds.
"We will make space available for nonprofits to come in, set up in a tent and raise profits for the day," said Falcone in an interview with 94 HJY‎. "We have done it for the fire department, for the Chamber of Commerce last week, the Charlestown Memorial Day parade. We set a certain amount of space aside every weekend to fundraise."
Falcone said the fundraising opportunity was great for nonprofits, as the flea market can get up to 5,000 customers on a busy weekend.
Any charitable organizations, churches, or similar fundraising efforts are eligible for the space at the weekend flea market, which is in its 48th season.Â
Nonprofit organizations interested in taking advantage of this fundraising opportunity can find more information by calling the General Stanton Inn at 401-364-8888 and 401-364-1818. The flea market is open on Saturdays and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
