Gusty Winds, Freezing Temps Bring Frigid Start To The Week In RI
After a tantalizing sneak peek of spring last week, snow is in the forecast for this week.
PROVIDENCE, RI — After a few days of mild weather and sunshine, wintry weather is back in the forecast for Rhode Island. The state is kicking off the week with below-freezing temperatures and gusty winds.
Temperatures are only expected to top out around 30 degrees in Rhode Island Monday, with wind gusts as high as 31 mph. Tuesday is expected to bring slightly warmer temperatures in the low 40s, with a chance of snow in the evening hours.
The high wind gusts, combined with dry conditions, led to another red flag warning in the state Monday. This means that fire risk is elevated in the state, and residents are encouraged to avoid open flames outdoors and take extra precautions to avoid sparks and other sources of accidental brush fires.
