How Much Violent Crime Happened in Narragansett and South Kingstown

The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report which features statistics for crime in Narragansett and South Kingstown.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Narragansett and South Kingstown.

According to the report, Narragansett saw 5 violent crimes in 2014 and South Kingstown saw 14. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.

There was one robbery and four aggravated assaults in Narragansett and 5 reported rapes, one robbery and eight aggravated assaults in South Kingstown.

Other crime stats for Narragansett include 154 larcenies, 36 burglaries, thirteen motor vehicle thefts, and one case of arson. South Kingstown had 199 larcenies, 73 burglaries, eight motor vehicle thefts, and five cases of arson.

Nationally, violent crime decreased nationally last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
