KINGSTON, RI — This summer, you can cool off for free at the University of Rhode Island's Boss Ice Arena. Every Wednesday, the ice rink will hold "Beat The Heat" free skate events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no fee to skate and $5 rentals, starting June 26.
This is the fifth year the ice arena has offered the promotion.
"We are excited to continue to offer a fun way to stay cool during the summer to South County residents and the entire Southern New England community," said Jon Hendricks, Director of the Boss Ice Arena. "Throughout the years, patrons have enjoyed escaping the heat by spending time in our rink during public sessions. Our goal is to continue to be a facility that supports the community and allows patrons to socialize with friends and family while potentially learning new skills."
