Jay Leno to Headline URI's Family Weekend in October

The former host of The Tonight Show and host of Jay Leno's Garage is performing Oct. 1 at the Ryan Center. Tickets on sale June 8.

KINGSTON, RI—The former ruler of late night television and the owner of a collection of cars to make a Saudi prince look impoverished, Jay Leno, is coming to the University of Rhode Island for a performance during Family Weekend this October.

Leno is due to perform at the Ryan Center "with side-splitting humor" on Oct. 1 and ticket sales for the general public begin June 8, according media release.

Leno has been a household name for Americans ever since his guest hosting appearances on "The Tonight Show" when longtime host and legend Johnny Carson was on vacation in the 80s. He then went on to host the show himself for 19 years and dominated the 11:30 p.m. time slot essentially the entire time.
