June 2021 Was The Second-Warmest On Record In Rhode Island
June 2021 was just 0.3 degrees less than the record set in 1943.

If the last week was any indicator, June was a hot month in Rhode Island. The average temperature for the month was four degrees higher than normal.
Over the past month, the average temperature recorded in Providence was 72 degrees, just 0.3 degrees lower than the record of 72.3 set in 1943. The average is 68 degrees. That made June 2021 the second-warmest on record for Providence.
Single-day highs were above average, as well. The hottest day, Tuesday, was 97 degrees, which broke the record of 96 degrees set in 1934. The single-day record for Providence is 98 degrees, recorded in 1943 and 1945.
